TEN TIPS TO BE A SUCCESSFUL HUSBAND AND TEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFECTIVE MUSLIM WIVES

by: IslaamInfo & Swami Stream

Being a good spouse is important in any marriage. Marriage should be a complete partnership where two people come together to please Allah – and strive to help each other better themselves for His sake. With that in mind, here are some tips to help husbands achieve success.

1. Dress up well for one’s wife:

Dress up for your wife, look clean and smell good. When was the last time us men looked good to please our wives. Just like the husband wants his wife to look nice for him, she also wants her husband to dress up for her too. Remember that Rasullullah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) would always start with Miswak when returning home and always loved the sweetest smells.

THE RIGHT OF A MUSLIMAH TO BE RESPECTED FOR HER MIND AND FOR BEING HER OWN PERSON

THE RIGHT OF A MUSLIMAH TO BE RESPECTED FOR HER MIND AND FOR BEING HER OWN PERSON

The right of a Muslim woman (Muslimah) is to be respected for her mind and for being her own person: A Muslim Woman is Required to Dress a Certain Way When She Goes Out in Public. For a Muslim woman, her modest dress is an expression of a universal sisterhood. An Islamic dress also liberates the Muslim woman, and she is then automatically respected for her mind instead of her body.

Simply put, she retains her dignity! It is like saying: I am a respectful woman. I am not for every man to look at, touch, or speak to. I am protected, exactly like a precious white pearl which, if touched by everyone, will become black and dirty.

A woman’s modest dress protects society from adultery and other forms of illegal sexual relations that lead to the breakup of families and corruption of society.

NIGHTTIME IS THE RIGHT TIME TO MAKE “A SACRED CONVERSATION” WITH THE CREATOR

NIGHTTIME IS THE APPROPRIATE TIME TO MAKE “A SACRED CONVERSATION” WITH ALLAH SWT, THE CREATOR

by Syarif Hidayat

A silent night is an appropriate time to make “a sacred conversation” with Allah SWT,  the Creator through Tahajjud prayer (salat). The only nawafil (sunnah) salat mentioned in Quran is Tahajjud. A servant gets closer to Allah through tahajjud salat. Allah (SWT) chooses those who performs tajajjud salat regularly (every night) as his companion. Angels also becomes his companions.
The best time for tahajjud prayer is last part of the night (i.e. after two-third part of the night). The tahajjud is prayed in two raka'ats each. Instead of praying more raka'at it is better to recite long Surahs from Quran after reciting Surah Fathiha.
The last part of the night is the time when Allah (SWT) accepts duas. So, it is good to spend time for dua also after tahajjud salat.
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. “And in some parts of the night (also) offer the Salat (prayer) with it (i.e. recite the Qur'an in the prayer), as an additional prayer (tahajjud optional prayer - Nawafil) for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم). It may be that your Lord will raise you to Maqam Mahmud (a station of praise and glory, i.e. the honour of intercession on the Day of Resurrection.)”  (Al-Qur’an, Al-Isra, Chapter 17, Verse 79)
