Islam
is a beautiful religion, full of wisdom and harmony. Islam is a religion of
love and peace. Love is one of the noblest human principles and traits that
cultivate the spirit of interaction, solidarity, and cooperation and add
affection to human relationships and dealings.
Muslims
believe that Islam is the origin of true love in all its dimensions: top-down (God-creation), bottom-up
(creation-God), and horizontal (interpersonal) and forms, quite independent of
any other faith, except inasmuch as both come from the same source, as
established by historians. Many Qur’anic texts and Prophetic hadiths undeniably
prove the fact that love, in the broadest sense, is an intrinsic ideal of
Islam.
In
the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Islam is “Rahmatan lil alamin” (blessings
for the whole universe and its contents). The God Almighty Allah says in
Al-Qur’an: “And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a mercy for
the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).” (Al-Qur’an, Surah
Al-Anbiya, Verse:107).
But
Islamophobes are always fabricating the myth that Islam promotes Jew-hatred such
as they did by displaying ads on buses in D.C, the USA. Take a look at the ad,
linked above, does anyone else find it insane that these ignorant people are
spending money promoting pictures of Adolf Hitler?
The God Almighty Allah warned in Al-Qur’an: “Never
will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you (O Muhammad Peace be upon
him ) till you follow their religion. Say: "Verily, the Guidance of Allâh
(i.e. Islâmic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you (O Muhammad
Peace be upon him ) were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after
what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Qur'ân), then you would have
against Allâh neither any Walî (protector or guardian) nor any helper.” (Al-Qur’an,
Surah Al-Baqara, Verse: 120).

Why?:
Mossad Motto is "By Way Of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War." The motto
of Israel's spy agency, Mossad, is, according to recently defected Mossad agent
Victor Ostrovsky: "By way of deception thou shalt do war."
That
motto describes more than the modus operandi of the world's most ruthless and
feared organization of professional assassins and espionage agents; it really
describes the modus vivendi of an entire race. It is necessary to understand
that fact before one can hope to understand fully the role of the Jews in
national and world affairs.
The
concept of a race eternally at war with the rest of the world is alien to us.
It is difficult to believe or even to grasp. When we examine such a concept and
begin sifting the evidence it is easy to become confused. On the one hand we
have the Old Testament injunctions to the Hebrews from their tribal god,
speaking through their prophets, to annihilate every Gentile nation over which
they gain power: "And
thou shalt consume all the peoples which the Lord thy God shall deliver unto
thee; thine eye shall not pity them...thou shalt save alive nothing that
breatheth."
(Deuteronomy 7:16, 20:16)
Similarly
bloodthirsty, explicit injunctions are repeated so often in the Jews' holy
books that we can only assume that they are meant to be taken seriously. The
historical evidence suggests that in ancient times the Jews did indeed take
their religion seriously: they were notorious everywhere and at all times as
implacable haters of humanity who in turn were thoroughly despised by every
other people among whom they lived.
The
Mossad (Hebrew: הַמוֹסָד, IPA: [ha moˈsad]; Arabic: الموساد, al-Mōsād; literally
meaning "the Institute"), short for HaMossad leModiʿin uleTafkidim Meyuḥadim (Hebrew: המוסד למודיעין ולתפקידים מיוחדים, meaning
"Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations"; Arabic: الموساد للاستخبارات
والمهام الخاصة al-Mōsād lil-Istikhbārāt wal-Mahāmm al-Khāṣṣah), is the national
intelligence agency of Israel.
Mossad's
former motto, be-tachbūlōt ta`aseh lekhā milchāmāh (Hebrew: בתחבולות תעשה לך מלחמה) is a quote from the Bible (Proverbs 24:6):
"For by wise guidance you can wage your war" (NRSV). The motto
was later changed to another Proverbs passage: be-'éyn tachbūlōt yippol `ām;
ū-teshū`āh be-rov yō'éts (Hebrew: באין תחבולות יפול עם,
ותשועה ברוב יועץ, Proverbs 11:14). This is translated by NRSV
as: "Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of
counselors there is safety."
It
is one of the main entities in the Israeli Intelligence Community, along with
Aman (military intelligence) and Shin Bet (internal security). The Mossad is
responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and
counterterrorism, as well as bringing Jews to Israel from countries where
official Aliyah agencies are forbidden, and protecting Jewish communities. Its
director reports directly to the Prime Minister.

The
myth that Islam is anti-Jewish
Qasim
Rashid in
his article titled “Debunking the Extremist Myth That Islam is
Anti-Jewish” published in Time.com, writes New bus ads in DC, the US
say the Qu’ran promotes Jew-hatred. It’s a meritless, dangerous accusation.
The
fiasco continues.
Islamophobes
are fabricating the myth that Islam promotes Jew-hatred by taking out ads on
D.C. buses. Take a look at the ad, linked above, does anyone else find it
insane that these ignorant people are spending money promoting pictures of

Now,
certainly some Muslims are anti-Jewish, as are some Christians, agnostics,
atheists—you get the idea. However, nothing in the Qur’an or in Prophet
Muhammad’s example supports the myth of “Islamic Jew hatred.”
“As
I detail in my upcoming book, EXTREMIST, an objective study of Islam
demonstrates that the myth of Islamic Jew hatred crumbles like a house of cards,”
said Qasim Rashid.
So
let’s dig in.
Those
who proclaim Islamic Jew-hatred deliberately misrepresent the Qur’an 7:167: “And
(remember) when your Lord declared that He would certainly keep on sending
against them (i.e. the Jews), till the Day of Resurrection, those who would
afflict them with a humiliating torment. Verily, your Lord is Quick in
Retribution (for the disobedient, wicked) and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving,
Most Merciful (for the obedient and those who beg Allâh's Forgiveness).”
(Al-Qur’an, Surah Al-Araf, Verse:167) —among several more verses. My analysis
of 7:167 below—which is equally applicable to any allegedly “anti-Jew”
verse—demonstrates without question that nothing here is “anti-Jewish.” But to
remain objective, I reference Dr. Philip Jenkins—a prolific non-Muslim
academic—who, on the question of Islamic Jew-hatred writes in his book Laying
Down the Sword:
“In
order to make such texts look vicious, anti-Islamic critics systematically
exaggerate the Jewish element in the passage… The Qur’an offers nothing vaguely
as explicit as the New Testament passages in which Jesus himself, who is for
Christians the incarnation of the Divine, speaks so furiously against “the
Jews.” It is the Jesus of the New Testament who calls his enemies the children
not of Abraham but of the Devil, the Father of Lies.
[But
Jesus] was not condemning all Jews in any racial sense, but was rather
attacking rival factions and leaders in his day. And that is the model we find
in the Qur’an. In reality, the Qur’an has nothing that need be taken as a
condemnation of Jews, or of any ethnic group.”
The
Qur’an instead condemns unjust behavior while lauding just behavior—regardless
of the person or people committing the act. Simply reading 7:166: “So when they exceeded the limits of
what they were prohibited, We said to them: "Be you monkeys, despised and
rejected."” (Al-Qur’an, Surah Al-Araf, Verse:166) and 7:167
together illustrates this point:
“And
when [the Jews] forgot all that with which they had been admonished, We saved
those who forbade evil, and We seized the transgressors with a severe
punishment because they were rebellious. And when they insolently rebelled
against that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, “Be ye apes,
despised!”
Here
the Qur’an speaks of Jews and the Sabbath. God “seized the transgressors”
because “they were rebellious.” Just as important, God “saved those [Jews] who
forbade evil.” The distinction is not Jew or non-Jew; the distinction is Jews
who observed the Sabbath verses Jews who profaned the Sabbath. And for
perspective, while the Qur’an metaphorically refers to as “apes” only those
Jews who profaned the Sabbath, the biblical condemnation of Jews who profaned
the Sabbath in Exodus 31:15 is quite violent: “Whoever does any work on the
Sabbath day must be put to death.”
Far
from “Jew hatred,” the Qur’an 2:63: “And (O Children of Israel, remember)
when We took your covenant and We raised above you the Mount (saying):
"Hold fast to that which We have given you, and remember that which is
therein so that you may become Al-Muttaqûn.” repeatedly declares that
the Jews shall attain eternal paradise. The Qur’an mentions Prophet Moses by
name more than any other prophet—over 150 times— and Islam recognizes the
Divine origin of the Torah and the Psalms of David. Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s
benevolent treatment of Jews attracted their love for him. Safwaan bin Assal relates,
“some people among the Jews kissed the hands and feet of the Prophet PBUH.” It
is impossible to consider that a man could garner such love from his citizens
with force or violence. Following this example, throughout Islamic history the
Jews flourished under Muslim rule in parts of North Africa, Jerusalem, Persia,
and Spain.
As
Jenkins notes, it is the Gospel of John that incites fear of the dangers Jews
posed to Christ, names Jews as dogs, swine, and snakes in Matthew, and declares
the Jews’ father is the devil again in John. Martin Luther thus wrote, “What
then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews? …their
synagogues should be set on fire…their homes should likewise be broken down and
destroyed…rabbis must be forbidden under threat of death to teach any more…
[let us] be free of this insufferable devilish burden—the Jews. Pope Clement
VIII added, “All the world suffers from the usury of the Jews, their monopolies
and deceit.”
Thousands
of Jews were murdered during the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and at
various times in Europe and Russia. The wordghetto owes its origin to the slums
of Venice where Jews lived. Father Charles Coughlin commanded a weekly radio
audience of more than thirty million Americans in the 1930s and openly
supported anti-Semitism, Adolf Hitler, and Benito Mussolini. And lest we
forget, Hitler identified as Christian.
Thus,
blindly blaming Islam—which is responsible for none of the above
atrocities—ignores that anti-Semitism is a worldwide epidemic. The
Anti-Defamation League, in its 2012 report on anti-Semitism in ten European
countries concluded, “As with previous surveys, data from this latest 2012
European tracking poll indicates that significant percentages of European
respondents continue to believe in some of the most pernicious anti-Semitic
stereotypes.” A 2011 ADL poll found that about 15 percent of the US
population—forty-five million Americans—“fall into the most anti-Semitic
co-hort.”
“This
allegation of Islamic Jew-hatred is dangerous because it is meritless, creates
an irrational fear of Islam and of Muslims, and ignores the factually proven
growing anti-Semitism in Europe and America. Per Islamic teaching, Prophet
Muhammad treated Jews as equals and with compassion. So enough of these
ridiculous bus ads—find something productive to spend your money on. Let’s stop
blindly blaming Islam for anti-Semitism and instead work together to root out
anti-Semitism wherever it exists,” Qasim concludes his article. (Qasim

And how to restore Islam’s true image of love
and purity?
If our religion kindles the flames of love for
all humanity, how come we let its image be distorted due to some ignorant
followers and lying enemies? Paradoxically, Islam is depicted as a religion of
hatred, while the Prophet of Islam said, “Do not hate one another, do not turn
your backs to one another, do not raise prices (in business bargains) for one
another, and be brothers, O servants of Allah”.
How to embody such tridimensional love in our
behavior, discourse, and relations? And how to represent it in a friendly and
likable manner despite false allegations from opponents?
We should address a horde of misconceptions that
form an ideological barrier to mainstreaming Islam and Muslims worldwide, such
as relations with non-Muslims, which must be based on mutual acceptance,
respect, and peacefulness.
Another issue to deal with is the concept
of Islamic jihad, which is taken by many either excessively or slackly. What
does jihad mean lexically and technically? And what justification it has in the
Qur’an? In Arabic usage, jihad is the “exertion of the utmost effort to achieve
something that is probably desirable”.
Religiously, jihad has three types, as
identified by Ar-Raghib in Al-Mufradat (The Items): (1) jihad against a plain
enemy, (2) jihad against Satan, and (3) jihad against one’s own self. The last
two types are implied in several hadiths. For example, Imam Ahmad in his Musnad
and Abu Dawud in his Sunan reported Fudalah Ibn `Ubayd as narrating that the
Prophet said, “A true mujahid is the one who strives against his own self in
obedience to Allah, the Almighty”.
In a weak hadith reported by Al-Bayhaqi, Jabir
narrated that, upon return from his last conquest Tabuk, the Prophet said, “We
have returned from the minor jihad to the major jihad”. He interpreted it as
meaning to resist one’s whims.
In fact, taking care of one’s parents is a
sort of jihad. The Prophet said, “Then let your taking care of them be your
jihad”.
Ibn Taymiyyah defined jihad saying, “It
encompasses all sorts of worship, inward or outward, including love of Allah,
devotion to Him, reliance on Him, submission of one’s soul and property to Him,
patience, asceticism, and continuing remembrance of Him. It takes all possible
forms — physical, spiritual, mental, verbal, etc.”
Religious tolerance is an essential principle of
Islam
Tolerance is the attitude that should
govern the dealings of all people with one another. Religious tolerance is an
essential principle of Islam and Muslims are ordered to have good relations
with people of all religions and be kind and courteous to everyone.
Muslims are ordered by the Qur’an to
uphold their promises and agreements with non-Muslims and not betray or
transgress against them. The lives, families, properties and honor of
non-Muslims must be protected under any government that claims to apply Islamic
law. Non-Muslims are also guaranteed the right and freedom to practice their
own religions in an Islamic state.
Islam is a religion of mercy and justice.
It teaches its adherents to interact with all people and to cooperate with them
for the betterment of mankind. More than ever today, Muslims need to work
together with other groups that oppose oppression, bloodshed, corruption,
promiscuity and perversion.
They should also cooperate with
non-Muslims in upholding truth and combating falsehood, in supporting the
oppressed, and eliminating such dangers as pollution and disease.
Only enemies who harbor hatred and
contempt against Islam are addressed by those Quranic verses that warn Muslims
against taking them as intimates and allies. Muslims are compassion as members
of the human brotherhood.
They are always to behave kindly toward
any non-Muslim who are not hostile, whether by offering financial help, feeding
the hungry, giving loans when needed, or interceding in connection with
permissible matters, even if only by speaking kindly and advising them. The
Quran addresses believers, saying:
”Allah does not forbid you from
those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your
homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed,
Allah loves those who are just.” (Quran, 60: 8 )
Thus, it is not permissible under any
circumstance for Muslims to mistreat a non-Muslim who has not committed any
aggression against them; they are not allowed to harm, threaten or terrorize
him, steal his wealth, cheat him or deprive him of his rights. It is obligatory
upon Muslims as well to honor whatever lawful treaties and agreements are made
with non-Muslim parties.
Coexistence does not mean that we cease to
promote our positive values. As an aspect of their kindness and concern for
humanity, Muslims are expected to invite non-Muslims to the truth of Islam with
words of wisdom, sound arguments and a pleasant manner. This is a debt owed by
Muslims to the peoples of the world in gratitude to God Almighty Allah for his
guidance and countless blessings. (HSH)
